CALLING ALL RUSH JUNKIES! BANFF MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL WORLD TOUR BACK IN SA

The local leg of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour will kick off on Friday 26 October and brings to our shores the very best films on Mountain Culture brought to life at selected Ster-Kinekor cinemas in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban.

Nine-year-old Ashima Shiraishi from New York City is taking the bouldering world by storm. Guided by her coach and former bouldering star Obe Carrion, this tiny master is crushing competitions and raising the bar for her peers. A trip to the bouldering mecca of Hueco Tanks in Texas, USA, provides a glimpse of the past for Obe and the start of amazing new adventures for Ashima.

This remarkable series of films, hosted by Cape Union Mart for the 7^th consecutive year, includes nine short films presented as a single screening once daily from 26 October to 1 November 2012 (except Durban which only sees one run on 1 November).

Don’t miss the world’s finest mountain filmmakers documenting their adrenaline packed antics which include extreme snow sports, rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking and slacklining, all featuring breath-taking scenery and spectacular sites from across the globe.
