MARC LOTTERING RETURNS TO THE BAXTER BY POPULAR DEMAND

20 Nov, 2012 - 5 Jan, 2013

Marc Lottering returns to the Baxter Theatre with his hit show I Don’t Work on Sundays! , from the 20th November 2012, running throughout the festive season until 5 January 2013.

Fresh from a sell-out season in Johannesburg that received rave reviews across the board, Lottering comes to the Baxter Concert Hall by popular demand after his first run of this show sold out in February this year. Lottering will share his latest stand-up material, ranging from his fascination with Dog Whisperers to why he insists on taking a bath in Lux soap. Amongst other things, he also gives the audience his take on the very successful international best-seller Fifty Shades of Grey and of course explains why he doesn’t work on Sundays.

This season marks the first in a long time that Lottering can be seen on stage minus his outrageous costume changes and familiar characters. It’s just Marc and a Microphone.

I Don’t Work on Sundays! runs at the Baxter Concert Hall from 20th November 2012 until 5 January 2013. Performances are Tuesdays to Saturdays at 8:15pm with a special New Year’s Eve show on 31 December at 10:00pm. Tickets cost R80 to R100 and R150 on New Year’s Eve, all via Computicket, with special offers for block bookings via 021 6803962. The show is 80 minutes in duration with no interval, and is not suitable for children under 16 years of age.

What the media have had to say- “Lottering’s spin on everyday life and the major headlines make for a show in which the laugh-out-loud moments barely leave you with enough time to catch your breath. “   – Paul Eksteen, Star Tonight

…Lottering builds up his jokes and anecdotes with fantastic attention to detail…he’s affectionate, not abrasive, and delights us by inserting himself firmly into our world. This is clever, observational comedy…” – Lesley Stones, The Daily Maverick

“ It is 80 minutes of pure stand-up comedy gold..this is Lottering unplugged, unfettered, and slightly unhinged, and it’s tremendous fun.” – Christina Kennedy, Business Day

“…he wades into a variety of subjects….all skillfully linked, a style he has developed over many years on the professional circuit. During these times of doom and gloom, Marc Lottering manages to raise the spirit…” –  Peter Feldman, Artspoken
