NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS AT THE V&A WATERFRONT – HOP ON THE BUS AND JOIN IN THE FUN

Lit by the Southern Cross and the lights of Cape Town, and framed by Table Mountain and the ocean, the V&A Waterfront is the most spectacular venue for a New Year celebration. It will also be the most exciting.

At the outdoor Amphitheatre, the festivities will begin at 19h00 and run through to 02h00 with a combination of world-class DJs and live performances from authentic Latin American band Group Tren Latino, afro-soul songstress Mtkika Afrique and cover band The Black Ties who will get the party pumping.

At the V&A Market on the Wharf, the fun will start at 19h00 and run through to 01h00. The Wharf will be buzzing with sounds provided by an exciting array of artists such as Australian acoustic guitarist Tombstone Pete, blues singer and musician Natasha Meister, the rock, blues and jazz Jack Mantis Band and 2010 Idols winner Mark Haze.

Tickets to the party at the V&A Market on the Wharf are available for a maximum of 600 partygoers at R250.00 each, and will include access to a cash bar, a meal voucher and easy access to other public areas. Convenient parking is available at the nearby Portswood garage.

At midnight the V&A Waterfront will welcome in 2013 with its spectacular customary fireworks display.

Partygoers and spectators are advised to get to the V&A Waterfront as early as possible on Old Year’s eve to avoid traffic congestion.

Getting to the V&A Waterfront has never been easier. The City is coming to the party by extending the MyCiti bus service to and from the V&A Waterfront until 01h00. And for those revellers who would prefer to welcome in the dawn, the first bus of 2013 will run from 06h05.
