Paying tribute to the ever popular music of Queen is The Show Must Go On which runs at the GrandWest Roxy Revue Bar from Friday 27 June 2014 until Saturday 30 August 2014.
No stranger to Roxy audiences is Cedric Vandenschrik, who, backed by some of Cape Town’s top musicians, will recreate the Queen live sound and energy in an electric tribute show. If you enjoyed his previous shows, Video Killed the Radio Star and All You Need Is Love, you will know what value Cedric’s talent and creativity add to his productions.
Cedric will perform upfront both in Freddie’s style and at times not allowing on-stage antics to distract from the sheer beauty of some if the Queen songs. Lee-Ann Fortuin will join him to deliver some of the lovely Queen duets. Under the musical direction of Shaun Johannes, the backing band will be Heindrich Goosen on drums, Tracey Johannes on keyboards, Rowan Zerf on guitar and Morne Smit on bass.
Queen’s music ranged from operatic rock anthems to some of the best Pop songs of the 1980s and has been the subject of many tribute shows. Each added their own colour and finesse to the musical gem that is the musical legacy of Queen. With the sheer musicality of its cast, The Show Must Go On is sure to have even jaded Queen fans singing and rocking along.
Performances are on Wednesdays to Saturdays at 8.30pm. Tickets are available from Computicket at R90 each.
