Lanzerac Winemaker Dinner Series

Join celebrated Lanzerac Cellar Master, Wynand Lategan, and Executive Chef, Stephen Fraser, on Wednesday 25 March for the first of the exciting Winemaker Dinner Series, with a total of four exclusive tastings planned for 2015. The evening, which is limited to a maximum of 20 guests, showcases well-known Lanzerac wines as well as the hotel’s signature dishes.

The Taphuis, the venue for the intimate yet fun and education evening, is the hotel’s historic Cape country bar believed to be one of the oldest in the Western Cape. The authentic Cape Country bar’s interior is richly decorated with antique yellow wood furniture and an impressive Cape Dutch fireplace as the centerpiece.

The theme for the evening is Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinotage, and includes a delicious three-course dinner. Look forward to a Ceviche of Kabeljou served with Blackened Cauliflower, Pea Shoots, Mange Tout and Sweet Potato Wafer with a Grapefruit, Passion Fruit and Coriander dressing for starters. Main course is tender Balsamic and Herb-Griddled Lamb served with a Grana Pandano Potato slice and Olive tossed Green Beans and Rainbow Beets. And what better way to end off the perfect evening than with a mouth-watering dessert. Treat your sweet taste bud senses to a delectable Dark Chocolate Fondant with Bitter Cocoa Marquise, served with a Tonka Spiced Pear and Cherry Ice Cream. The pièce de résistance is that this five-star menu has been carefully paired with wines from Lanzerac’s Premium and limited release Heritage ranges.

On arrival at 6:30pm guests will be welcomed with a glass of wine whilst admiring the beautiful Jonkershoek sunset overlooking the vineyards and valley.

Tickets are available at R375 per person and include all gratuity, all wines, the dinner and coffee/tea. All other drinks will be for your own account.
