COMPLIMENTARY MONDAY WINE TASTINGS

Guests and visitors are encouraged to start their week on the right note, with the much-loved Monday wine tasting evenings at the Vineyard Hotel this May. The month begins with the wines of Stellenbosch Ridge on 11 May. Named after much-loved local landmarks, the wines of Stellenbosch Ridge pay homage to Stellenbosch and its rich heritage. Their range includes a Stellenbosch Ou Hoofgebou Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 and Moederkerk Chardonnay 2014 – with the Bordeaux style Stellenbosch Reserve completing the collection.

Set on the slopes of the Klein Drakenstein Mountains just south of Paarl, 18 May sees the wines of Avondale brought to the Vineyard Hotel.  With the ethos ‘Terra Est Vita’ or ‘Soil is Life’, Avondale Estate is a dynamic living system where soil, water and energy; plants, animals and people form part of a complex web. Their flagship Armilla Blanc de Blanc is fresh, versatile and full of the vitality that comes from Avondale’s holistic way of making wine – embodying the celebration of life on the farm.

The month ends with the wines of Mulderbosch on 25 May. Since its founding in 1989, Mulderbosch has been widely accepted as one of South Africa’s foremost wine producers. With a Sauvignon Blanc that has been referred to as ”South Africa’s most celebrated Sauvignon” by John Platter, their range also includes their Faithful Hound Bordeaux-style blend, a Chenin Blanc sourced from predominantly old bush vines and a deliciously decadent Noble Late Harvest made from Sauvignon Blanc.

A representative from each of the respective estates will host the hour-long tastings from 18h00. Tastings are free of charge.
