The concept of the gourmet burger has been flying around London and the States for some time now, but it is only recently that the trend has caught on locally. Royale is a funky little joint on Long Street with an incredible vibe, unique menu and fascinating decor. The menu is dominated by the most elaborate burgers on the planet, with a couple of down-to-earth specialities peppering the mains such as homemade vegtarian lasagne (yum!). Sit in plush white leather booths at old-school formica tabletops while gazing at the eye-catching wall decoration featuring a number of strange looking hats and works by local artists. Its a unique and stimulating eating experience and one that comes highly recommended. Lunch and dinner are always buzzing.
