Cape Courtyard | |
Some info: |
The Cape Courtyard offers an authentic and unique South African experience with our Gourmet Braais and Cape Dutch setting.
The restaurant is tucked behind the Kronendal Manor House along the Main Road in Hout Bay. The gables of the Manor House along with the vines, braai boma and terraced garden courtyard, boasts an original Cape Dutch character. The Manor House dates back to 1713 and was preserved as a National Monument in 1960. It holds a distinctive place in the Cape’s heritage and history. The Cape Courtyard’s menu reflects a kaleidoscope of the history of the Cape with all its diverse cultural influences, including the ‘trek boere’, the Malaysian slaves and the Portuguese. At its heart is the pioneering spirit of the open-hearth fire, hence the Restaurant’s braai boma and indigenous clay oven. At the Cape Courtyard all these influences are bought together and are superbly intermingled and presented. |
