Hot new bands are going to burn up the stage at the V&A Waterfront’s Amphitheatre as talented musicians vie for top spot in the 2014 Take the Stage contest. Semi-finalists performing in preliminary rounds include Morning Ms Dednam, The Coast and Cherry Vynil on Saturday 22 November, Matthew Rice, Cara Frew and Indigo Child on 29 November, and The Kill Heavy, Haiven Band and McCree on Saturday 6 December.
With no set music genre the contest has something for everyone, from rock to pop, country, blues and more. After the three preliminary rounds judges will announce the three bands going through to the finals on Saturday, 13 December. Contest winners will be included in the line-up to play a live gig at the country’s biggest New Year party in the Waterfront. They will also win professional equipment from Marshall Music.
