Entertainment and Portuguese food will abound this Saturday, 4 October and Sunday, 5 October at the annual Blessing of the Fishing Fleet at the V&A Waterfront this summer. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Blessing of the Fishing Fleet ceremony’s silver jubilee coincides with that of the V&A Waterfront, which also turns a quarter of a century old this year.
The festive event will have plenty of entertainment to keep visitors enthralled and Portuguese food on sale, creating a fun-filled, relaxing family outing. Cape Town Archbishop Stephen Brislin will celebrate mass at the Waterfront on Sunday, 5 October at 10.30am, with the blessing of the fishing vessels occurring at around 1pm.
