Delvera Hi-Tec Full Moon hike

Time: Arrival by 16h30, no later than 17h30 to start hike.
Venue: Dirtopia Trail Centre, Delvera Farm, R44 between Klapmuts and Stellenbosch

You can enjoy the sunset over Table Mountain with stunning views of the Winelands and even a picnic whilst the full moon rises over Klapmutskop.
This 9.75km marked circle route through the vineyards starts at the Trail Centre located on the Delvera Farm. This gives you the unique experience of hiking through the Greater Simonsberg Conservancy and Yellowwood forest to the top of Klapmutskop. It can take you up to one and half hours to reach the top so don’t be there later than 17h30. To ensure that you have the full experience!

A shuttle service is available, especially for children. The hike then starts with the single track at the Pepper Tree – this will shorten the route to less than 5km in total. This option will take about 30 minutes to the top.
You can be back at the Trail centre round about 19h40 – 20h10, depending on your walking speed.
The cost includes a shuttle – you will also get a map. As it is a marked route, upon payment, the sooner you start hiking, the better in order to spend more time on the koppie enjoying the beautiful view.

Bring something warm to wear after dark and a torch, but there are a selection of Energizer torches available Trail Centre as well.
Wear hiking shoes – you are climbing a mountain.
Picnics must be booked and paid for at least two days before the event date. They are made by the Simonsberg Café. 5% Discount on picnic bookings of 15 & more. Limited backpacks are available to borrow (inclusive of ordered picnics). Menu options available at www.dirtopia.co.za (Trail Centre link).
