Delvera Hi-Tec Full Moon hike – September 2014

Date: 8 – 9 September 2014
Time: Arrival by 17h00, no later than 17h30 to start hike.
Venue: Dirtopia Trail Centre, Delvera Farm, R44 between Klapmuts and Stellenbosch
Cost: R65 pp and R25 for children under 10 yrs
Watch the sunset from Klapmutskop with stunning views of the Winelands & Table Mountain in the distance. Enjoy your picnic and see the full moon rise over the Hottentots Holland mountains.
This 9.75km marked circle route through the vineyards starts at the Trail Centre located on the Delvera Farm. This gives you the unique experience of hiking through Renosterveld and Yellowwood forest to the top of Klapmutskop that forms part of the Simonsberg Conservancy. It can take you up to one and half hours to reach the top so don’t be there later than 17h30, to ensure that you have the full experience!
You could win a pair of Hi-Tec hiking shoes in a lucky draw! A shuttle service is available, especially for children. The hike then starts with the single track at the Pepper Tree – this will shorten the route to less than 5km in total. This option will take about 30 minutes to the top.
You can be back at the Trail centre round about 19h30 – 20h00, depending on your walking speed.
The cost includes a shuttle – you will also get a map. As it is a marked route, upon payment, the sooner you start hiking, the better in order to spend more time on the koppie enjoying the beautiful view.

Bring something warm to wear after dark and a torch, but there are a selection of Energizer torches available Trail Centre as well. Wear hiking shoes – you are climbing a mountain. |
