The V&A Waterfront will celebrate the ancient Indian Diwali Festival of Lights at the Amphitheatre on Sunday, 19 October. Stalls will be open to the public from 11am and the programme, which includes several cultural events, will kick off from 2.30pm.
The celebration also includes a prize for two to travel on a cruise with Bollywood stars.
The rich and colourful Hindu festival is open to all South Africans. They are invited to participate in this celebration of life, love, unity and peace. The festival marks the triumph of good over evil, offering participants the opportunity for reflection, to reform, build bridges and move ahead in a spirit of universal friendship.
The event is being held by the Hindu Association of the Western Cape (HAWC) in conjunction with the Consulate General of India (Cape Town), the South African Hindu Maha Sabha and FNB.
