THRILLS AND SKILLS; HOT HEELS AFRICA 2013 TAKES TO THE HILLS

Hot Heels Africa began in 2003 and is the longest running race on the International Gravity Racing Association (IGSA) World Cup Circuit. Hot Heels Africa 2013 takes to the hills of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, near Pringle Bay from the 5th December through till the 8th of December 2012.

Over 150 speed freaks from around the globe will gather for a weekend of action-packed gravity racing.

The 6 Categories include Downhill Skateboarding (u/14, u/19, Open and Ladies), Street Luge and Classic Luge. 30 international skaters will join adrenaline junkies alike to see who will take the title.

Downhill Skateboarding has become increasingly popular amongst all onlookers. This year proved to be a thrilling performance by the legendary skilled and titled “Kloof Neck bomber” for his high-speed stunt. Dec’io Lourenc’o has become clearly apparent with this year race series, currently stands undefeated after 5 races and indisputably the South African champ for 2013.

There is however speculation as to what may transpire at Hot Heels this year as the race is notorious for being “anyone’s race”.

SAGRA invite those all young at heart to come and join the skaters for a weekend of thrills or savor a day out in nature with friends and family. Relax and enjoy the view of the Buffelstal Dam and the epic surroundings. Immerse yourself in nature’s beauty and watch in awe the speed and insight into the risk of skating.
