JAZZ IT UP AT JACKSON HALL THIS JANUARY

Local jazz duo Urban Groove will bring their easy listening jazz sounds to Jackson Hall every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday during January.

Urban Groove consists of Tony Higgins on keyboards and Marc de Kock on alto, tenor and soprano saxophones and they play a blend of jazz standards, smooth jazz and with some urban jazz thrown into the mix.

Versatile keyboard player Tony has a wealth of musical experience and has played with well known local bands such as Late Final, Brother to Brother and Panorama, along with appearing at many top jazz gigs.

Marc de Kock graduated from the UCT College of Music with an Honours degree in Jazz, after which he was invited to tour to New York with the National Youth Jazz Band. Over the years he has performed with top recording artists and in the band for musicals, appearing at the Cape Town Jazz Festival and the Mother City Groove.

Tony and Marc also own and run their own music recording and production studio.

The DJ session begins at 18h00 and the band plays from 21h00 onwards.  Entry is free.
