Heritage Day fun at Steenberg

Steenberg will be hosting a Heritage Day event on the 24^th of September, with a line-up of fun activities, live entertainment, food, wine and fabulous prizes.

Good-spirited runners are invited to enter the Steenberg Vineyards Fancy Dress Trail Run. This ticket can be purchased for R230.00 at www.topevents.com, and entitles the bearer to the run, access to the festival area with scintillating live entertainment, and entry to the Boules Tournament. The Best Dressed Runner wins their weight in Steenberg wines – definitely a prize worth dressing up for!

Those who would rather spectate than partake can purchase a ticket for R250.00 from Steenberg, which includes access to the festival area and a variety-filled food package for the open-fire braai areas on the lawns, including a lamb shoulder chop, house-made boerewors, pork ribs, potato and green salad, as well as one glass of wine and one bottle of water, a crystal wine glass and a wine tasting. This ticket also entitles its holder to entry into the Boules Tournament and live entertainment.

The Boules Tournament features outstanding prizes. The winner will receive one night for two at the 5-Star Steenberg Hotel, including dinner and breakfast at either Catharina’s Restaurant or Bistro Sixteen82, as well as six bottles of Steenberg wine, amounting to a total prize value of R4000.00. The runners up will win a wine and cheese tasting for up to 10 people, to the value of R1000.00.

The day’s live entertainment sees some of Cape Town’s most exciting live acts taking the stage at the Steenberg Winery, kicking off at 10:00 to 16:00. The line-up features Debi Parkinson on saxophone, Me and Mr. Brown, and Lize Mynhardt.

With a full day of fun in the springtime sun scheduled, the Cape’s oldest wine farm will not be acting its age on Heritage Day.
