Kirstenbosch celebrates 101 years with you!

Tuesday 1 July is Kirstenbosch’s 101stbirthday and visitors can enjoy FREE entry to the Garden that day.
With school holidays on the go this is the day to take the family and explore the Garden. The newest addition is the Tree Canopy Walkway affectionately known as the “boomslang”. Experience a magical part of the garden as you traverse the treetops of the Enchanted Forest and discover the beauty of the Aboretum. If photography is a passion the walkway offers a new perspective of the garden – so shoot some frames and enter a picture in the Botanical Society Photography competition.
Activitiesplanned for the children as part of the Winter Wonders programme will keep them occupied while the rest of the family wander the garden paths. Browse the Kirstenbosch Gift shop and BotSoc bookshop and look out for special birthday offers.
Join the volunteer Botanical Society guides on any one of the scheduled walks: 10am and 2pm Monday to Friday, and 10am on Saturday; and discover the most beautiful garden in Africa. After all the exercise a stop at Moyo Restaurant Kirstenbosch, thenewly renovatedKirstenbosch Tea Room or Vida e Caffe will re-fuel your energy with their foodie temptations.
This is a chance to explore and discover our wonderful botanical heritage as the many pathways introduce you to the tranquil spaces that feed your soul.
