Elvis impersonators are a dime a dozen, and generally not taken very seriously by the music industry. But Nathan Belt is the exception. He returns to the GrandWest Grand Arena on Saturday 11 January 2014 with the two-hour tribute show, Legend Returns – The Elvis Show.

Nathan is one of the most sought-after and well-respected Elvis tribute performers in the world and has headlined Elvis concerts everywhere, from across the US to South Africa, from Singapore to Europe and everywhere in between.

Nathan prides himself on the fact that his show is one of the most authentic, and goes to great lengths to ensure it’s always presented with enormous respect to honour the memory of Elvis Presley.

The singer, songwriter and musician is not your typical tribute artist – he is talented guitarist and pianist with voice that comes close to rivalling that of the King himself.

For Nathan, music and Elvis were always part of his life. Growing up, he found himself surrounded by the classic vinyl sounds of gospel quartets, country stars and rock ‘n roll legends. Some of his best memories were during holidays such as Thanksgiving and Easter when his Dad, Grandmother and Uncles would play the guitar and sing till all hours of the night.

“The first time I remember having an interest in Elvis was when I was about five or six years old,” he says. “I found an Elvis Presley 45” of my Dad’s that had Blue Suede Shoes on the A-side and I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Cry on the B-side. I listened to it over and over again on my Fisher-Price record player. I pretended to play the guitar and dance without really knowing who he was. I was just enjoying great music.”
