Milnerton Players present A LOVELY SUNDAY FOR CREVE COEUR by Tennessee Williams
Milnerton Players next production is a comedy by Tennessee Williams “A lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur”. This charming and funny play, set on a warm June morning in St Louis, revolves around four women – Dorothea (Dotty) played by Fiona Tanner, a romantically, hopeful, Southern Belle, her German roommate, Bodey (Petra Schiebe), who wants to pair her with her beer drinking twin brother, their disturbed neighbour, Miss Gluck (Brigitte Scherz), and the predatory, Helena (Tracey Collis), who wants to ‘rescue’ Dotty from her vulgar surroundings.
With comic irony and great tenderness Williams skilfully explores the meaning of loneliness, the need for human connection and the inevitable compromises one must make to get through ‘the long run of life’. The play is directed by Judith Herbig.
