Mr & Ms Fitness SA Pageant

The Mr & Ms Fitness SA Pageant has changed hands, the new owner and organizer is MRS JOANNE GONSALVES from Cape Town, the sole Owner of Muscle & Majestic Fitness Productions.  Joanne, is no newbie to the fitness world she has been involved in the Fitness Industry for more than 15 years, on many different levels both as a competitor in bodybuilding and more recent years made a switch to fitness.  Joanne has competed in the Pageant a number of times, has judged the athletes as a Body Judge for the Pageant and has Show Managed the Pageant as well.  She is a Qualified Body Judge, Sports Nutritionist and qualified in Complimentary Healthcare and a certified IFBB Judge and Personal Trainer. Her passion for good health and wellbeing, meticulous attention to detail and interpersonal skills with people on all levels, will bear witness to enabling this production to flourish and be even bigger and more entertaining as it grows.

The venue shall remain at the Grand Arena at GrandWest, Cape Town which enables such a production to be of the highest possible quality and to provide the athletes with prime facilities to showcase themselves.

The 2012 Pageant dates were already set at the time of the take-over and the Pageant recognises and understands that this may affect some preparation time for some athletes.  In 2013 every endeavour will be made to revert back to the August/September months.

Joanne’s vision for the Pageant is to firstly form a new Face to Fitness in the form of branding  the company known as the biggest Fitness Pageant in South Africa with the main focus on creating relationships with sponsors who will not only enjoy the exposure afforded to them by association with the Pageant and the GrandWest but also being the facilitators for winners to represent the South African Fitness Industry overseas.

Changes to enhance the efficient running of the Pageant will be implemented along with a Head Judge for each of the 3 categories by which athletes are scored.  This will enable athletes to have contact with someone who can give them feedback on their performance and how they can improve.  A platform for this forum is yet to be created and will allow athletes to give positive feedback, constructive criticism and any suggestions for improvement s are welcome.  Notice on this will be on the website after the show.

BODY, FASHION & ROUTINE/DANCE – all judges have been qualified and occasionally a celebrity judge will be invited to participate.  Scoring shall be verified and we are looking into the possibility of appointing an auditing firm as well .  This will evoke a feeling of professionalism and transparency for both athletes and the public.
