PRIME CIRCLE AND DAN PATLANSKY FOR SPECIAL KIRSTENBOSCH CENTENARY FUNDRAISING CONCERT

21 Mar, 2013

macstanLovers of hot music – the signature of the Kirstenbosch summer sunset concerts -will be delighted to know that the Thursday March 21 public holiday sees a special fund raising concert at the Garden with favourites Prime Circle topping this bill.

This longer than usual concert (5pm to 7pm) features not only this popular group but with an opener of Dan Patklansky blues fans will be delighted.

Stronger than ever after 11 years in the game,Prime Circle has just delivered their fifth album to fans. Evidence is already making waves and having completed a countrywide tour to promote the album, the band will be off to launch it in Europe in April. The first single, Time Kills Us All, heralds a new chapter in the phenomenon that is Prime Circle and the second single and title track has created another huge following.

As a fund raiser for the Kirstenbosch Centenary events this concert is certain to have Prime Circle fans rushing for tickets and, judging by previous attendance at their December 2012 concert, should be an early sellout.

Opening act Dan Patlansky gives blues fans good reason to spend a lazy evening enjoying his legendary riffs.  To achieve legend-status as a Blues-musician at the age of 30 is almost unheard of and Dan Patlansky is such an artist. He shares the muse that touched Hendrix, Zeppelin and Stevie Ray Vaughan and his accomplishments on a six-string Fender Stratocaster surpass most critically acclaimed guitarists.Blazing musical trails across South Africa and the world Dan followed his first two albums with two more releases, Real (2007) and Move My Soul (2009),each garnering wider acclaim than the former, solidifying Dan’s status as a world-class Blues musician. He continues to perform all over the country and globe in the company of world-renowned musicians.

Appearing here with Prime Circle offers a great opportunity for fans of several musical genres to enjoy a concert that will have the audience rocking and dancing on the lawn and the perfect start to what promises to be a fine long weekend.

Pack a picnic basket, head off to the Garden and enjoy Human Rights Day in the company of some of South Africa’s top musicians.
