RED HOT LATINO RHYTHYM
10 Nov, 2012 - 11 Nov, 2012
At the V&A Waterfront Celebration of Dance
During November visitors to the V&A Waterfront will encounter the fiery, red-hot rhythm of Latin dance at the outdoor Amphitheatre.
Enjoy a summer’s evening under the stars on Saturday 10 November while watching the fluid movements of the salsa dancers from Que Pasa as they sway their hips and feet to the catchy Latino beat in a fast-paced 20-minute show. In a twist, however, the audience will be invited to join the cast for an impromptu 40-minute interactive salsa class after their performance.
On Sunday, 11 November the dancers from the La Rosa professional dance company will entertain the audience with their exotic and dramatic flamenco routines. Although associated firmly with Spain, flamenco dancing has its roots in Indian dance and music which was transported to the Iberian Peninsula by Gypsies, north African, Arabic and Sephardic Jewish wanders. Each of these cultures is ingrained in the dance.
Performances on both nights begin at 18h00 and are free.
Date: Saturday, 10 November 18h00 to 19h00 Sunday, 11 November 18h00 to 19h00
Venue: V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre
Cost: Free
