The Vineyard Hotel continues its series of ongoing complimentary wine tastings in November, showcasing some of the finest wines from a variety of estates in South Africa.
The winetastings for the month begin on 3 November with the wines of Klein Constantia. With an esteemed history dating back to 1685, this estate is included among the world’s most beautiful. Set on the upper foothills of the Constantiaberg, Klein Constantia is in the perfect location to produce cool climate wines – which currently rank among the top in the country. Along with one of the world’s most famous natural sweet wines, Vin de Constance, their wine range also includes an Estate Range and the eponymous KC Range.
On 10 November, guests will have the opportunity to explore the wines of Rickety Bridge. Producing wines under this label since 1992, their cultivars include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Semillon. Believing that great wine starts with good viticultural practices and quality grapes, Rickety Bridge also sources specific grapes from other areas or microclimates to suit the requirements of the winery – ensuring a consistently premium product. The estate’s most awarded wines are the Rickety Bridge Shiraz and Rickety Bridge The Foundation Stone Red.
On 24 November the wines of Rust en Vrede will be on offer. With a wine history spanning over 320 years, the last 32 years have been spent focusing on Shiraz, Cabernet and Merlot. As the first South African estate to specialize in the exclusive production of red wine, Rust en Vrede is heralded as South Africa’s Premium red wine Estate.
A representative from each of the respective estates will host the hour-long tastings from 18h00. Tastings are free of charge.
