Those Crazy Ladies in the House on the Corner – Matinee show

Take three talkative, elderly widowed sisters, Dora (Beryl Eichenberger), Maggie (Roz Fitzgerald -Turner) and Maggie (Yvette de Lucchi) who just want to sit around at home, drink tea and talk – usually all at the same time! Then imagine you were their doctor and had to convince them to take better care of themselves and participate in life.
What do you do? You move another person in with them but one that can have a significant influence!
Doctor Lomax (Petra Schiebe) suggests the young nurse Jean (Kalika Welgemoed) who, after a while changes the three ladies lives getting them to exercise, throw parties and generally find their sense of humour and pull pranks. But then Jean’s boyfriend Calvin (Ryan Bird) and the ladies’ niece Philippa (Colleen Lorusso) cause all sorts of trouble, and a mysterious woman named Jessie (Sheila Grant) shows up. Add a rather challenged delivery boy Blue ( Craig Seconna) and the stage is set for some hilarious moments.
Interesting developments, plot twists, family dynamics and comedy abound to offer a story that is at once heartwarming and thought provoking! Never underestimate anyone because of their aging years! Delightfully funny, this is a play that will resonate with both young and old alike as lessons are learnt from each generation!
