Folk-rock icon Cat Stevens, a  popular British singer-songwriter captured the imagination of millions of fans with his passionate voice and soul-stirring lyrics during his quest for world peace. He sold more than 40 million albums between 1967 to 1977.  1977 was the turning point in his life, following a near-death experience, Cat Stevens converted to Islam, changed his name to Yusuf Islam, abandoned his pop career and embarked on a worldwide charitable mission providing food and education to the underprivileged and needy.
