Although this album fits neatly into the category of pop/rock, it nontheless contains some very interesting and, in a very postmodern sort of way, some almost refreshing tracks. for Example the second song on the album, Avolon, is not something that one usually expects from a pop group/singer. Its sound is completely original, and the same can be said for a couple of other tracks on the album.
But Juliet’s original thinking and stiff-lipped individualism is by no means out of character. Her entire musical carreer stands testament to this fact. Starting off on the road to being a pop-princess, Juliet quickly changed her image by shaving her hair and dressing in black in an attempt to prove that she was not going to be turned into another product-for-sale through which producers could have made a quick buck. This album serves to reflect this world-view and contains some interesting and, one must add, unexpected songs to the track list. |
