Natalie Merchant: Retrospective 1990-2005

Celebrating her 15 years as a solo artist, Rhino Records celebrates this artist’s career with Retrospective 1990-2005, a two-disc compilation featuring favourites, unreleased tracks and two new recordings. The first disc features her favourite songs selected from previous albums with the second disc offering some unreleased tracks and other rarities. Also included are collaborations with REM, The Chieftans and Susan McKeown. Track-by-track commentary, written by Merchant herself, reveals the inspiration behind her songs. “I tend to remember the events in my life and the people who have participated in them through the context of album cycles: writing, recording and performing,” she writes. “They are my little epochs.”
